Do you remember that great scam a few years back for "RAM compression". It was the top selling piece of software, and did absolutely nothing (except changed the size of virtual memory on your PC.)

I think you are referring to STAC compression software. I don't that is the same as disk drivers. If Intel's Win98 IDE drivers find the presence of an 820 or 840 chipset and RDRAM, it initializes up to a 16 MB disk drive cache to improve performance. This is similar to old MSDOS SMARTDRV.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

PS RMBS was #8 on dollar volume chart today. Only daytraders, momo investors and so called short scammers are playing RMBS while rest of market is avoiding heavy volume.
