I looked out and saw a Bluebird chasing a Bluejay. Plus a finch and an oriole and a cardinal. Love the birds. I had a coocoo that ate web worms. Now that was something.

Crows, they do rip my garbage bags apart. I have to go out and rebag everything. Neat watching them tear it apart though.


We seem to be seeing a lot more birds around here than usual this year... the population seems more varied than I can ever remember from previous years. That seems at least a little encouraging after years of declines...

And yes... the crows do love to go for the garbage bags, or get inside of garbage hoppers outside of restaurants. The crows in the city near my mom's place like to go down and get chicken bones over at a nearby fast food restaurant and then carry them back to the park to dine. If you walk under almost any tree in the park, there are dozens of bones in the grass... ones that the crows have dropped after they're finished with them...
