Why is what Heinz says "far-fetched?"

The Swiss Franc is almost synynomous with sound currency, so attention to how they manage their money supply is certainly relevant to any discussion of what money is and what determines its value.

One can follow monetary statistics by free subscription to, or use of the following site:

stls.frb.org

Also, the back pages of The Economist include such information.

It's hard to see that there is any point to the comments in your message.

dj, i know a few world bank officials who are very familiar with the situation in Africa, and they're telling horror stories regarding the rate of growth of AIDS in most countries.
apparently now that most of central Africa is already infected, the southern African countries have become the ones where the growth rate has picked up the most. to my vast surprise it seems that the majority of the population of Botswana is infected by now.
this is indeed serious...

regards,

hb
