Mogul and Thread, I spoke to Kim Benham (sp?) of DIGL IR dept. before. She was very friendly. I asked her a few things. Here's what she said:

Headcount on 06/30/00 was 185 up from 163 on 12/31/99. Hirings were mainly for engineering staff.

They let their circuit boards manufacture externally by contract manufacturers. These boards go into their NICs and NAAs are of proprietary DIGL design. The assembly and final testing of the machines/products are done in-house in their facilites in Clearwater FL.

Their main head-to-head competitor is the company their CEO Mr. Chastelet (sp?) came from. That co. (some funny double name) was relatively recently taken over by TTC. TTC is a larger co. than DIGL, and their product offerings for network testing and maintenance are more diverse, as I understood. DIGL is more narrowly focused on NIC portables and NAA's, and that's where DIGL will continue to focus for now. Kim did not name any other competitor, but I think I didn't ask for naming some more.

DIGL wins much business from TTC, mainly because the DIGL portables are so light and small and nifty to operate (for example touchscreen displays). Unit price as I understood is not a primary concern for their customers, but performance, oprability and transportability. The NIC business is even accelerating now, something they did not expect to this extent, and what they are positively surprised about.

TLAB was one of their first customers at all, so that's a long term account already. They use DIGL stuff mainly to replicate and solve network problems of their customers in one big TLAB facility in or near Chicago, she said.

CSCO is recommending their customers to buy DIGL equipment when deploying optical networks products from CSCO. The optical space is relatively new for CSCO as I understand.

The DIGL software is always included in the product. They do not sell software per se. The software is relatively generic in the sense that while it does differ from application to application and piece of equipment, it is not really custom-made for each customer, or so I understood.

The Sniffer alliance is kind of a joint venture in that the capabilities/features of the Sniffer software will be integrated into the software DIGL ships with their machines. It is an enhancement to the software that DIGL uses, kind of an upgrade, as I understand. There will not be any particular new hardware being developed to make use of the Sniffer software and features.

Instead of filing all this for me, I thought I might just as well post it here. Hopefully some new info is in it.

I'm long DIGL at $100 a few days ago. I plan to keep it long term. I'm not a frequent trader, normally.
