techtonicbull ... I also read Dent's book, and think that the first half held together pretty well logically, but when he gets into specifics about how to profit from demographic changes (e.g. the second half of the book, which is all about investing in real estate in the new, upcoming and renewing middle size cities), he is so full of crap, it is dripping off his earlobes ...

... instead of passing the "Roaring 200s" along to a close friend, I tore it in half and tossed it in the trash ...

... the best piece of analysis (TA) I have read in a longtime is a Barron's piece this week - the interview with Dow Theory specialist Richard Russell - I think he is a lot closer to the real probabilities in the market today than Abby Joseph Cohen, Joe Battapaglia and Larry Cudlow - the 'big tricycle wheels' of the last bull market, which has already ended ...

... not that I believe we will have a disastrous bear of the magnitude that Russell predicts is likely ... just the same, I continue very cautious as I have been since January 1 ...

... note: John Murphy stated on June 8 that ... "Our longer recommendation is to sell into the (coming) July rally and hope for a possible buying opportunity in the fall."

... not my kind of market to be long in general ...

techtonicbull: I hope you're right, along with Mr. Dent...that we are still in a bull-market. Things sure are more fun and more profitable for most...in a bull. I don't know "bandwidth" from "watchbands"...but a lotta sharp people feel that bandwidth will "propel the internet and major companies...having a stake in it." I've never questioned the extraordinary technological revolution we are in...just the action in many, many stocks that have lost 50-70-90% in price in a Very Short time. There will be some companies that strive...and whose stocks will thrive. I hope you're right...I suspect though that you're wrong...and that the burden of proof is now weighing heavily on the shoulders of the bulls. Occasionally Atlas does shrug...under all that weight.
