Justice go after DeBeers.
The DOJ is bold, but they so far only enforce U.S. laws on U.S. companies.

TP (Who's wife agreed that buying diamonds was tacit support for aparthied South Africa and settled for a gold ring (from South Dakota) instead.

<<It would be fun to see Justice go after DeBeers. >>

A&E had a special on them. Almost every country has warrants out on the family. They rarely leave South Africa and when they do they have people checking to see if Interpol is at the airport. It's not unusual for them to turn around in mid flight.

DOJ has sued deBeers (GE case) but deBeers refused to appear and as a result it has to operate outside of the United States. Companies who buy deBeers diamonds can sell them in the United States but can't fix prices.
