Oil prices hit three-month high as OPEC hesitates over supply hike
New York--June 12--Oil prices rose to their highest levels in three
months as
OPEC said it put off a decision on whether to add more oil
supply.
In New York trade crude for July delivery jumped by $1.25 a barrel
to $31.45. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries had been
expected last week to raise output after the average price for the crude
it sells went above $28.00.
Instead, oil ministers will wait until they meet on June 21 in Vienna to
discuss what is driving crude prices back up. (Story .5972)
