This ICQ log shows all the elements of the low-quality dot-com BB/pink stock hustle:

* a stock hustler or two get together,
* they get a public company (in this case, a pink sheet)
* start hyping the stock,
* discuss and identify the hot buzzword du jour (in this case, "portal"),
* start looking for any kind of company involving the internet to buy, even if it consists only of a 17-year-old kid in another country,
* get a busymess account set up,
* discuss the stock price and whether to issue a news release ("Let's do a press release Friday morning for PZ"),
* hire a stock touting firm,
* hire a CEO mainly to promote the stock ("If we hired **** ******* as the CEO he could handle all those inquiries and start working on promoting the stock with you. Press releases, opt-in's and so on."),
* continually try to scrape a few thousand dollars together

New spring football League planning first season
The Associated Press
HOUSTON (AP) -- Potential investors, including former NFL stars Eric Dickerson, Bo Jackson and Tony Dorsett, are discussing a pro football league with games to be played in March and June.
The Spring Football League plans franchises in Houston; San Antonio; Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Miami; Birmingham, Ala.; Canton, Ohio; and Jackson, Miss., SFL board of governors chairman Mark Rice told Houston's KRIV-TV on Friday.
"It seems like a really good opportunity and I might be involved with the Texas team," Dickerson said.
Jackson said he was considering investing in the SFL.
"I can't make any big announcements of whatever, but I'm very interested in this new league," he said.

DG 5/12/00 1:21 PM Why are you having such difficulties with such
small amounts of money? You can fund a
football league but getting Dave or me $5000
is impossible. It is driving us crazy and it
is very difficult for us to understand.
Things are tight man. I am putting everything
I have into this and getting no money to go
forward with.
