Well, apparently it's made you overly sensitive, too. Now, how is it that you're taking a $200 billion charge against Bill Gates' stubborness, and my suggesting that he was not even in the good programmers league (let alone an all-star), into this out-of-the-blue comment that today's programmers don't understand machine architecture. Not only does it have no context, it's false: it's still required to obtain a Computer Science credential. Furthermore, today's abstractions are far more complex than a few registers and a stack. Again, you're spouting off more of this phoney, nostalgic notion that yesterday's programmers knew more or were smarter. That's a load of cheap balogna. Let me also add that there were no ad hominems, only accurate observations. Don't superimpose your own style over my direct, emphatic responses and interpret them as ad hominem. That's one of those transparent subject-changing strategies that don't fly with me. You don't set the agenda or the guidelines for participation here. Your dictatorial inclination to control the direction and/or the tone of the conversation is not uncommon, so don't feel bad.
