It is more like a jig saw puzzle of the Empire State building. Right now all we have is a couple of windows from the tenth floor. Look how our concept of the universe changed with the Hubble telescope. Until we invent time travel we will never know what our past was really like. All we know for sure is that our ancient ancestors were more efficient killers than the Neanderthal. Considering the fragile environment we live in luck played the largest supporting role in our existence.
