Elmer:

If you can not go to previous posts, much used web sites, and other previously referenced data, you are just too lazy. You do not like the data, so you ignore it. Any discussion is pointless with someone like you.

You show me the benchmarks where a Cmine at 933 beats a Athlon at 1GHz. These are the current top of the line available processors on Pricewatch. I840 platforms are not available in the DIY market with RIMMs. Only i820 platforms are currently available with RIMMs in the DIY market. On the QMC benchmark, which I have referred you to in the past (you keep FORGETTING this third party benchmark (even Intel has failed to get this compiled to his satisfaction (it is in his comments on his page of 6/11/2000) on 4.5), a 1GHz Cmine on i820 with 2 128MB RIMMs takes 424.63 seconds. A 1GHz K75 Athlon on KX133 (K7V) with 384MB CAS 2 PC133 takes 300.28. Even the top performing Cmine system, a dual no less, takes 347.34 seconds, while the top performing Athlon gets 268.58 seconds. Yeah, a dual 784MHz P3 on a overclocked BX with 512MB of CAS 2 PC100 gets wasted by a single 1044Mhz K75 on a overclocked AMD750 GA-7IXE with 256MB of CAS 2 PC100.

Yeah, like you can not go to Pricewatch. You can not go to JC's page, then to the clearly marked QMC benchmark page, then to the clearly marked Tim Wilkin's benchmark commentary page (ok you lazy dog, w3.physics.uiuc.edu to find the obvious data you do not want to see.

Anything that shows your wrong is considered pure "unadulterated hogwash" to your eyes and you so conveniently forget about it. I do not believe one should be led around "by the nose" and need 50 or 60 web page links to see the obvious. Intel continues to over promise and under perform. Wish it were otherwise, but there it is.

I have admitted to any mistakes I have made, when have you?

Pete
