gst, fwiw, imo amzn's strategy encompasses the turtle and the hare. Grab as much market share as fast as possible (hare) and serve the customers as best as possible (turtle).

You are correct. This should have been obvious from the beginning. There is typically very little customer loyaty in general in retail and service industries. It is the nature of a competitive economy.
