Sadly, many fossils have been lost or destroyed. During WWII, important collections in China were stolen, or hidden, never to reappear. International politics can prevent the sharing of information and fossils, which can severely inhibit the possibilities of recreating a more complete skeleton. Still,it is the one theory of our origins that continues to be expanded and reinforced by the findings, and while there may be new classifications and arguments over the details, the overall THEORY remains the same.
Other theories remain unsubstantiated thus far.
