We try to protect the innocent vigorously, and if it were commonplace to convict them, you would have a point. To accept that with all safeguards in place, some will inadvertently be convicted, is no reason to cease to do justice in the vast majority of cases. You think that only punishing the innocent is unjust. I think that failing to punish the guilty is also unjust, and that there is an acceptable level of "collateral damage" in administering justice in the vast majority of cases..........
