You cannot generalize on this. NTAP customers can use whatever they wish to connect their hosts to their NTAP filers.

Keep in mind that NTAP started in the hardware and software engineering niches where filers were on small LANS. Then the ISPs started putting filers on dedicated FDDI LANS "behind" their web servers.

NTAP can connect via FDDI, ATM, SONET, e-net.
