Pete you're batting zero. You have been wrong in just about everything you post. There are 8 AMD SPECint scores
submitted to the SPEC organization and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them uses an Intel compiler. They know
quality when they see it.


Intel's compiler may or may not be a legitmate compiler used in many aplications. I'm not getting in the middle of that arguement, but I think it would probably be a good idea for AMD to follow Intel's lead here. AMD should make sure that compilers highly optimized for Athlons are available. If they can convice current compiler makers to do the optimizeing great. If they can't they should either look into writing one themselves (if they have the programers or can hire them) or more likely contract it out. The benifits would probably outweigh the cost by a lot.
