Does your system properties show any conflict for the printer port? Can you Add Printer via the Printer area in settings and print a test page? Is the windows default printer set right? How is your IRQ utilization?

Have you gone into the bios and tired different printer port setting?

NIC cards shouldn't effect printing.

Michael

Hi Scott, sorry about the printer problem. Doubtful if I can add to what others have posted. However, I run a Abit BH6 BX MoBo and about 10% of these boards have printer port go haywire either early on or down the road. First one I bought, couple years ago, lasted about two months. Dealer exchanged MoBo, OK since. To resolve their problems they are picking up a used/cheap/whatever PCI or ISA I/O controller card with a Printer/Paraller port. If you have a spare slot you might give it a shot, Dunno'.

Haven't connected with DSL yet, guess that headache is down the road couple months.<g>

Good Luck, /jw

Scott,

Maybe install the old BIOS just to see if that's the problem.
