IRQ 7 is utilized as the default. I tried switching to IRQ 5, and diff addresses (3BCH, 378H), and changed type of parallel port "look" (ECP, EPP) Also varied DMA (1,3,Disable). I also tried getting a USB to Parallel Port cable. That setup just says "Printer is off. Turn on Printer" even if printer is on.

Printer will print a test page, even if cable is not hooked up to printer. (Lexmark printer 7200). Just hold down "advance" button when on and off button is pushed to on.

Lexmark tech supp. tried printing from DOS, bypassing "registers" and the whole Win98 issue. When their print commands from DOS failed to activate printer, they gave up.
Took printer to shop, where they loaded drivers and printed.
I have reloaded drivers, too.

Just a few more weird things about Kingston software. Installing it froze the machine, requiring a cold boot. As the BIOS loaded, it said I had a "Pentium II" chip instead of "Pentium III". It restored the "Floppy Drive" defaults, resulting in a phantom "A" drive, with my LS-120 drive as "B". Lotsa junk like this.
Thanks Michael. Hope you have some ideas.
