zzzzz..oops! sorry, I fell asleep. I'll try and be more attentive.. Here we go again, Carl. Let us dissect the spin:

Slide 4 - <<VIA already took most of Intel's chipset business away from them for helping PC133..>> and this is RMBS' fault? or... this represents a flaw in RDRAM technology? or... whatever, Carl. Your leaps of logic are literally ludicrous... Why? You've suggested: RMBS technology sux, and yet DDR is not a ripoff of RMBS technology because it was obvious art... yadda yadda yadda. So many circles in this logic I am nauseated. What the hell does PC 133 chipsets have to do with "minimizing OEM risk with DDR"?

Slide 7: RMBS technology has been around since 1990.

Slide 11: RMBS is in systems today, in spite of your efforts to label every INTC glitch a kiss of death. And NOW you are saying we should be understanding of DDR delays and glitches?? The only choking here is that of readers choking on your FUD.

Slide 14: <<DDR has been shipping in x16s for months now>> Let me hurry up now and order my Dell Workstation w/ 128Mb in units of 16's (ggg). Just what I wanted. Lets see, I've only had a half bottle of Cabernet tonite, I can still probably do the division... Oops, there are NONE available!

Slide 32: <<) It will take a while for you guys to figure out that DDR took the market, but when Intel admits it, it will be pretty obvious. >> Come on, Carl, it will be obvious only when the number of DDR based desktops begins to overtake the number of RDRAM based desktops. You know that.

<<These different delivery dates are significant to different players in the market, and it is very confusing to mom and pop.>>

There you go again, pounding on your employer, Mom and Pop. Why such great concern / little esteem for the buying public, Carl?

<<In addition, a lot of the milestones are not made public, for secrecy reasons. Why would VIA want ALi to know how much performance their DDR chipsets are going to give months before they start shipping? That is valuable information, it could give a competitor a reason to up their ship date or work harder at increasing performance. Similarly with letting loose information about when their products will be ready.>>

LOL! I could wax for months on this one. Development milestones = performance data? Gimme a break. Your sense of drama appeals to us all, I think, including our man just in from the cold, our Manchurian Candidate, our Mekong Engineer, Gene. What can I say, but live and let die. Or you only live twice. Or.... whatever. Sorry Carl, but that one looks like sheer drivel to me. I apologize for being hard on you (ggg).

To this uneducated obeserver, you appear to be more tied to Via every day.

Once again, my oft repeated question to you, my friend: Please share with us the revenue range and type (product) of company you work for, and what your job description is. No names, or dates are requested. Thats all. You know my name and what I do. I hold a core long poistion, plus a trading position. Please come out.

Respectfully submitted,

BP
