Uh, nobody's told Richardson that:

Gas prices?

"Unacceptably high."
Lost secrets?

"Unacceptable."

Richardson offered outrage, but no explanations.

"We're trying to get those answers," Richardson said of rocketing gas prices, most notably in Milwaukee and Chicago. "No one can explain; the refiners can't explain and others can't explain why gasoline prices are so high in the Midwest, and in other parts of the country they're lower."

Then there's that other matter complicating Richardson's cabinet career, not to mention his vice presidential chances.

"I am outraged by what happened at Los Alamos. We need to get to the bottom of this," said Richardson of the disappearance of two computer hard drives containing important national nuclear secrets.

Richardson faced reporters after a long-scheduled speech at the National Press Club to an annual energy conference sponsored by Milwaukee's Johnson Controls.
