News: WaveRider To Begin First Installation Of Its LMS3000 TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2000-- Newest Last Mile Solution(R) product enables fully-wireless link between WISPs and subscribers WaveRider Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:WAVC) (FRANKFURT:WVR.) , a leading global provider of fixed wireless Internet access products, today announced it has finalized agreements to begin the first deployment of its LMS3000 - the newest in its Last Mile SOLUTION(R) family of products. WaveRider's LMS3000 enables Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) to provide their customers with fully-wireless high-speed Internet access and eliminates the need for wired services. Operating in the 900MHz license-exempt frequency band, WaveRider's LMS3000 is a wireless end-user modem that enables non-line-of sight communication between Internet subscribers' offices or homes and the Communications Access Point (CAP) in the wireless Internet service system. The LMS3000 delivers speeds up to 1Mbps to residential and commercial users. WaveRider will install and deploy the LMS3000 as part of its agreement in excess of (U.S.)$1 million with Platinum Communications Corporation, a WISP based in Calgary, Alberta.
