Re: ATT Wins Open(Forced) Access Appeal

lml and Thread- In what I believe is a very significant ruling, AT&T has won their appeal to overturn the Portland ruling regarding Open(Forced) Access. I was going to link to a story, but can't find one right now. I guess it's hot off the press. I heard the report on CNBC. As a matter of fact, David Faber's reporting of the ruling was, surprisingly, quite accurate.

Keep in mind, ATT did this without direct intervention by the FCC who apparently favors ATT in regards to the access issue. So that's a wildcard ATT didn't have to play.

lml- I'm still pondering the whole relationship aspect between the SP, ISP, and control of customer's eyeballs&ears. If, as you believe, there is importance in the control of the ISP, then this ruling means very good things for ATT(also ATHM). I imagine the other broadband ISPs, such as AOL and HSAC, will benefit too. -MikeM(From Florida)
