Seems they have been disappointing for years and years Indeed. Just before I left HWP/Agilent in 1998 I bought this wonderful box with my HP discount... For under $700 I was able to get a box that allowed me to get B&W AND color copies, scan books and photos and make nice color prints of stuff on my PC... I looked at Xerox and I think they wanted $1000 then for a B&W copier and the reliablility was a question... I think the 3rd of 4th generation of that box now sells for $400 at CostCo and you put the document on the flatbed scanner, push a button on it and then your PC asks you "do you want me to scan this to WORD, email, a file, etc....?" truly amazing how HWP just blew away an old business model with new technology. Since buying that box, HWP has doubled in price PLUS spun off Agilent. I wonder what XRX is doing these days? Last I heard they were going after HWP's printer market. Must be tough to compete with the low-cost, high tech leader. Kirk out
