i agree...they actually risk undermining investors trust in the government's stats with the most recent bald-faced lies they have published. once that happens, it will take a long time to restore it, and a painful adjustment of paper asset values should result. i have yet to meet someone outside the touts and talking heads on CNBS who actually believes their BS numbers. btw, the CPI's shelter component is acknowledged by various real estate organizations to reflect anything but reality... regards, hb PS: don't worry about the next set of PPI/CPI data...they will show NO inflation, again. the price of turnips will collapse by 80%, or something along those lines...
