BoJo - Re: "Since he took over National Semiconductor Corp. (NSM) in 1996, CEO Brian L. Oh yeah?

That article was published A YEAR AGO !!!

Have you seen a PC announcement with a GEODE processor since that time ?

Halla almost brought NSM to BANKRUPTCY - and only by selling off the bulk of the Cyrix business did he prevent this disaster from happening.

Get a clue.

I believe that Andys paranoia brought Intel to try Timna...
which will likely prove that the paranoid (ideas) don't necessarily survive.
Yes, things change very rapidly in this business, so fast that Timmy will likely be obsolete when it hits the market...if it ever does...too many limiting factors...

Next year Intel offerings will include Willy at 1400 Megahertz, Floppermine at 1000 (with a low Mfg cost)Megahertz (maybe actually shipping some) and Timmy at 500, maybe 600 Megahertz on a good day....
An X-box will likely feature a 700 Mhz Coppermine with a super powered 3D graphics engine and a hard drive...
So how will E-machines sell a 500-600 Mhz Timmy system for more money?

Won't happen...

Jim
