Hi Scumbria; There is no way that a 2% royalty is going to crash the entire industry. Instead, it will probably make the players raise their prices enough so that the next time they get blindsided by a patent on a design they thought was unrelated, they will have the margins to cover the cost. Tilting the table to the disadvantage of the manufacturers doesn't help innovation or the consumer, as people would have us believe. Why should companies finance big fab lines without having an idea in advance what royalty costs will be? -- Carl
