Thanks again, Ken, and congratulations to Syrinx! Since the TV guys ran out of Tiger superlatives by Friday, I can't add much except to say I feel lucky to be around as his legacy unfolds.

IMO, not only is Tiger great for the game in general, but he's giving our overly-pampered, pay-check-collecting US Tour players a much needed wake-up call. Take Tiger out of the mix and this Open basically belonged to the rest of the golfing world. More proof that US golfers have fallen behind the golf skills curve thanks (IMO) to big money checks and endorsements. Except, of course, for Tiger, who clearly is motivated by one simple goal - to be the very best.

It'll be interesting to see which pros can respond constructively over the coming years. There's a new Sheriff in town and he's taking names! I love it!!

KFE,

I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, but my home computer has been down, so I have to post at work. Unfortunately, I won't be heading out to the New York area any time soon. I do travel at work, and I'm hoping to arrange something in that area eventually. Hopefully, there's not a dead line on the grand prize, or you could come out to Chicago for a round. Nevertheless, the contest was a lot of fun, and it brought up some interesting topics on golf.

I think Tiger's going to be great for the sport of golf, the only thing that is missing is a steady contender. Even as great as Jack was in his prime, he was in steady contention with Arnold Palmer. Before them was Sam Snead and Ben Hogan, and you could also throw in Byron Nelson. I think you have to go back to Bobby Jones as a single dominant player in his era or prime. Faldo was at one time on the pace to become a dynasty, but it was not to be. Is there another single dominant player out there now, besides Tiger? All the other golfers?

I think every sport needs a dominant player or team because eventually the great ones succumb to the latest phenom, unless of course, your like Micael Jordan who retired on the down side of his game. True competitors don't retire in that position, they continue on trying to be the best at whatever they can do. I didn't like the way Jordan retired, even thought it probably was the best thing for him and his image. He's just to damn smart.

Could you imagine somebody retiring from golf in their 30's. That's why people retire, to play golf. But now that I think about it, that's what Bobby Jones did. I think.

Anyways, thanks for the contest it was a lot of fun,and I won on a fluke. Nick Faldo, you guys had to be laughing behind your keyboard's.
