Judging by the number of significant companies that have aken up licences, it appears that they judge the technology to be valuable and worthy of a 1.5% or so stake of the selling price.

1.5% for DRDRAM seems quite reasonable. On the other hand, 2% for DDR or 1% for SDRAM is absurd, which is what Dan was referring to.
