Ken:

I can relate to that. As I kid, I played a lot of baseball.
In high school, I tried out for the team, and like all
freshmen, was put on the J.V.

We went to see the first varsity game of the season, as
a group. We were all intimidated by the performance of
one of the opposing players. He ran, threw, and hit with
such passion and skill, that I abandoned my baseball
career, and became a varsity bowler. The guy's name was
Al Kaline.

It can break one's spirit.

Thanx again for the contest.

Bob

KFE,

Agree completely on Jesper. Too bad as the guy really has a lot of game. Very good with the irons and the putting stats show how good is he there.

If anyone was really going to give him a run I thought it would be Els or Jesper. I watched Jesper just miss putt after putt, and not from tricked greens or lack of local knowledge. He just didn't hit them with his usual conviction. Jesper likes to ram them in the back of the hole inside a certain range, and he is very good at it.

I expected more from Els, but he was like in a coma on 15 of the 18 holes. I thought at the turn he was going to put something together.

Interesting experience I think we all might have had. Have you ever played against someone who maybe has been your equal and they start an unstoppable charge to a low round. I have and sometimes I find that when we get to the last few holes I know there is no way to make up the difference and I lose some of my intensity. I think many in the field were feeling this as well as awe.

The real difference is that Tiger would not let that happen to him, and the proof is how he has come from behind to steal a win or a second from deep in the pack on Saturday or Sunday.

Have a good one, and remember you must not allow me to pick Jesper again. I will forgive him by the British and I will want to. Just say no to pink.

Hit em well and thx for the contest. It makes it so much more fun.

KFE,

Golf Central just had a short piece on the Black Course. I was laughing when I saw that sign that says, "Warning, the Black Course is a very difficult golf course...".

Those guys in the cars at 4 am. Are you one of those guys?

How about the ones that say they have four in the car, but really only have two. Again, busting a gut. And the guy who dressed up his golf bag as a player, or brought a dummy along.

Well, now I have to play it.

Have a good one, and er, get some sleep.
