So although I think the 815 is long overdue, the news seems to be overshadowed by other things, especially that Toshiba thing.

That's interesting. Paul Engel is finding all kinds of 815 news, but I guess you are right. The market is thrilled that Intel will be paying royalties to Rambus on every memory controller they sell.

A quiet introduction? A quick check of the Compaq site shows the DeskPro EN series are now i815E based, replacing the 440/820 based machines. (Which can still be found under "...earlier models")
