Re: SSTI Late last year after I posted some information on SNDK here Tom Bishop posted that SSTI was growing faster. He based that on the most recent quarter's sequential growth. I took a look at the numbers and saw that while SNDK had been experiencing steady growth, SSTI was showing either flat or declining revenues going all the way back to 1996. That is, until the most recent quarter, which at the time was the 3rd Q 1999. From my 12/24 post: ------------------ In the case of SSTI revenue for the 9/99 quarter came in at $35,147 an increase of 94% over the $18,139 recorded in the prior year. Their sequential increase was in fact 52% but from the look of things that was just one quarter. Let me explain. SSTI reported revenue of $23 million during each quarter of 1996. In the quarter ending 6/99 they again reported $23 million in revenue. During every quarter in 1997 and 1998 they reported less than $23 million (ranging from $16 to $20 million). For the 9/99 quarter revenue shot up to $35 million and I have not checked into the reason. Perhaps they will keep climbing from here but their revenue record over the past 4 years is actually dismal. These are the annual numbers: 1996 - 93 mil 1997 - 75 mil 1998 - 69 mil 1999 - 76 mil (3 quarters) SNDK, on the other hand has increased revenues each year. While both companies had about the same revenue in 1996, SNDK is about double SSTI now. 1996 - 97 mil 1997 - 125 1998 - 135 1999 - 164 (3 quarters) -------------------------------- Lets update the numbers for SSTI, starting with that breakout 3rd Q of 1999:In thousands: 1998 1999 YoY % Q3 18,139 35,147 94% Q4 18,083 48,328 167% Q1 18,328 62,314 240% Q2 22,991 ? [note SNDK reported revenue of 109,369 for Q1, 2000]. So we can see that sales have indeed begun to grow at a nice clip. Also, after 7 consecutive quarters of losses, the last three have shown profits (2 cents, 21 cents and 34 cents). We should look into this further. StockHawk
