Why must a person worship at all? Why are so many individuals so insecure with themselves and the universe that they seek to create an image of something above and beyond them to worship? -- an image, BTW, made in THEIR image.

This has puzzled me since I was a child and disturbs me because for such a supposedly advanced race, Mankind is still so irrational and primitive.

But how do you KNOW the great power you believe in comes with those? Either you were told it does, or somehow the great power revealed to you that it comes with those characteristics- either way, you, or the people who told you about it, could be fooled. Unless you mean you merely worship the characteristics- and don't care whether there is a being associated with them or not. I think that's admirable.
