Try using Nortons to detect the problem. It is a pretty good
utility and should prevent this and help save any possible lost data. As for the ISP, I would contact them about the disconnects and if they can't prevent them, I would ask that they terminate their contract because of inability to per form and find someone that can.

Finished examining the charts of today's (6/21) Watch List. I very much like many of the charts...many have come down substantially since the start of the year...have formed what appear to be 2 1/2-3 month reaccumulation bottoms...and are now showing unmistakable signs of new mark-up uptrends. Very tradable. Good criteria, good scans. (Lee)

lee k. - I've had MSN for 2 years and have never had any problems. Once you pull up the sign in screen and are ready to connect, hit the settings tab and then "options". Make sure the box "disconnect if idle for more than 20 minutes" is NOT checked. If this is not checked, then I'm not sure what the problem is. I can leave my connection unattended for as long as I want without any cutoffs or nag screens (the original AOL hell).

Lee - keep Datek streamer running in the backround - that keeps me logged into my ISP (AOL) all day long - never logged off once (i log into AOL and use IE and Netscape browsers) - hope that helps - Connor26

Lee, nothing worse than what you're dealing with. You might try running your online broker on one browser, the rest of your internet needs on the other. Like Conner, having Streamer (MedVed for me) keeps me logged on continuously. Ron

OT.

Lee, having the computer for 2 days and got problems?

Surely beat me having YHOO for few minutes and got problems. On my YHOO, I just watch it and the problem will go away. On your computer, you may want a different approach. The best way is to take it to where you bought it, and either replace the computer, or have them clean out (format) your hard disk and reload windows with minimal bundle software. If this does not work, replace memory module. If problems still exist, buy DELL.

Since you signed up with MSN, it somehow works best with Microsoft Explorer. When you install AOL, try not to install Netscape browser. Microsoft and Netscape don't mix.

Regarding to the disconnect problem from MSN, you can fix it yourself: go to MSN Internet Access (red circle with pointing finger logo), choose MSN Option -> Connection Setting -> Option -> set "Idle Time Before Disconnecting" to never.

Good luck.
