news this a.m. about the EU and the merger.
First thing this a.m. on my desktop:
dailynews.yahoo.com
Shortly thereafter: "EU: Too Early to Speculate on WorldCom
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission said on Wednesday it was too early to speculate on whether it would block the $115 billion merger between U.S. telecoms giants WorldCom Inc and Sprint Corp"

JDN,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember our DOJ ever questioning a European merger on antitrust grounds? I guess they are too busy with the locals.

If Bush decided to make the DOJ antitrust division an issue in the election, I think he might get a few votes from WCOM and MSFT shareholders.
