John,

Re: Intel investment income.

It's not that I'm a big defender of Intel, but I think these realized gains have much to do with the Nasdaq during this quarter.

IF I was Intel, sitting on a truckload of unrealized gains in technology stock, I should have sold in April like crazy. I don't think Intel is very happy with this situation, but the market forced them to sell a lot of those former high flyers.

I don't think they are so naive to think they can make the quarter with this. Every analyst will look through it in five minutes. I see this press release as a positive thing, it separates this profit very clearly from normal income.

Bert

Petz, Re: "Anyone remember when Intel's 2:1 will be effective?"

The payment date will be July 30, 2000. On or about that date the new shares will be mailed from the Company's transfer agent, The Harris Trust and Savings Bank. The company expects that its outstanding common stock will begin to trade on a post-split basis on July 31, 2000.
