Mani, Wolff Was on Bloomberg TV this AM with

many positive comments.

AMD: Strong Buy rating; surpassing forecasts; expected to blow
away 3rd qtr estimates; key copper product to be big seller going

Mani, good sleuthing on ING Baring's prior recommendations. I'll probably get clarification tomorrow.

BTW, I junked my software internet proxy here at home (Sygate) for the Linksys router/switch. It works great with Roadrunner, free's up card slot for 2nd network card and is faster, and my main PC doesn't have to be on to provide internet service to the wunderkid.

Unfortunately, Netscape email says "looking up pop-server" and never finds it. Somehow internet DNS works, but pop-server is unknown. Any clue how to fix this? I may the same problem with smtp-server for sending email.

Mani, re:<John, looking at it more, Peter Wolff at ING Barings already had a strong buy on AMD so it can not be a "initiating strong buy". Also his price target was already "$170-$206".>

Albert asked me to thank you for your correction. Peter Wolff apparently said,

"we've had strong buy" and then added "since the start of initiating".

but he is sometimes hard to understand and Albert misunderstood him to say "we have strong buy" and "start of initiating"

So it was really a reiteration of a strong buy, but the prediction of 1.57 Q2 eps and 6.03 annual is apparently an increase. Also, if they just increased the EPS estimates, I wouldn't be surprised if the $6.03 includes taxation for the second half, because that is AMD's current guidance.
