Speaking of Dan Quayle, the quote about water on Mars wasn't really stupid, just poorly phrased. Water molecules can be separated into hydrogen and oxygen, using electricity. If there were water on Mars, it would mean that we wouldn't have to import oxygen for use in sealed environments. And, lo and behold, there may be water on Mars.
