The market seems to like the numbers better than I did. BRIO and BOBJ down, COGN up. In answer to your other question, here are some comparisons of R&D spending: R&D As % of Sales BOBJ $8.2 11.3% COGN 15.9 14.6% BRIO 5.4 13.6% MSTR 16.2 32.0% HYSL 17.9 14.2% The MSTR numbers make no sense, so I'm waiting to see if the high R&D was an aberration last quarter. I think they really believed the bloated sales numbers they were reporting and started hiring to match that level. As for BOBJ, their R&D has always been on the low side. Maybe the pay scale is less for French programmers. <G> Carl
