Mag,

Wow, great short primer for the mental game. Are you sure you haven't read Rotella?

A couple of comments:

Swing thoughts -
Believe it or not, I emulate Colin Montgomery, not because I like his swing, but unfortunatly his swing mechanics seem to work best for me. I would need to be younger to be an Ernie. Don't you envy the real young kids that have the flex to emulate Tiger (if I tried to copy his swing I would shoot 110 and probably end up in the hospital)?

I can sometimes even "see" a line going through the air as to where the shot should travel. Not always, sometimes...

I sometimes "see" the same with putts, when it happens, I ALWAYS make the putt.

Thanks, I think your note gives everyone on the thread something to work on.

John

Mag,

Your routine is of course very different from mine, but you are on the money. Until I started forcing myself to not being a lazy A**, I would have a lot of trouble hitting the shot I knew I could. Having a firm, and repeatable routine has helped me a lot. I use it at the range too for all shots except a balance and tempo drill that I do.

Yours is a bit more complex than mine, but what is important is exactly what you said...that you get comfortable and into the "swing" mode.

Good Luck

TH
