good point about taking the pre shot routine to the range with you. A medium bucket of balls (40-50) should last a good 45 min to an hour. Many beginners get the mongo bucket, rifle through them like there is no tomorrow hitting driver on 90% of the swings... and then wonder why they do not improve with all the time they spend on the range.

I like your idea of using one club and getting a feel for hitting it different yardages before going on course. I used to have a similar drill. I would only take 6 clubs with me on the course (including putter). Some of my best rounds came with that drill. I do not get the opportunity to play as often now so I have not worked this drill for some time. Maybe tomorrow??? hmmmm, yea, tomorrow.
