Well, you are not altogether wrong about my frame of reference, of course. I get a little hincty more than a couple of hours from a major city, I rarely leave the Northeast, and most of the people that I know, even the one's who are Evangelicals, are from mainstream denominations. I remember driving through South Carolina a couple of years ago, seeing innumerable Bible churches, and being relieved to finally see a Methodist church. Maybe if I had to put up with screaming fanatics at the supermarket I would sympathize more.

On the other hand, I have met a lot of fundamentalists involved in conservative politics, and they have all been much more savvy and presentable than the one's you refer to, and have bent over backwards to show that they were not racist and anti- semitic. Most of the fundamentalists around SI are okay, not all, not all, but I think most. So it is a question of whether it is I or you generalizing too much from anecdotal accounts<VBG>........

This may be a big shock to your system but.... You are supporting a fundy for President.

I call them fundies mostly because there is no one particular sect or branch to hang a label on. These are groups of Southern Babtist, ....
