i never doubted that silver would continue to be used in photographic applications. in fact, the most recent data on the sorry state of global inventories suggests we're going to eventually get a truly stupendous rally in silver. i think $25 silver is a very real possibility down the road.

Color film and color prints are not silver based, they are dye based. Silver based is black and white. Sorry.

Silver based film is also used for x-rays and for lithography, but a lot of silver is recycled. The developer and fixer are sold to recycle companies, and so is old film.
