Sir Galahad,

<<What is exciting about the BRCD/CSCO effort is the promised interface between FC and the TCP/IP protocol used for LANs and WANs, making FC a more powerful protocol for long distance interfaces between computers and peripherals. That gives BRCD a distinct advantage over its FC competitors.>>

Could you expand upon this advantage? With the interoperability agreement BB cited, why won't this benefit inure to all?

Greg

>>The term "fibre" in FC is a little language trick because the FC model is described as a "fabric" made up of "fibre". Thus the name of "Brocade" and its "Silkworm" switches. Confusing to lay people, but cute.<<

Thanks DS.
With all of these new technologies it is confusing to a lay person like me. The desire to learn is there but sometimes the old synapses miss-fire. Appreciate the help from people like you.

Seems like just a few weeks ago many were wondering if there were any gorillas around.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been engaged in low-tech fence building work for the last 3 days.
