To Earlie from Earlie

Do I think that the Japanese are signing up with "Ram butt" (so named by our Canadian brokers) out of patent worries?

Nope!

Samsung announced that since it commenced Rdram production a year ago, they have now sold 10.0 million Rdram units (no comments though, on revenues generated, or profits, or inventories in the channel). Samsung accounts for 80 % of total global Rdram sales at the moment, so Rdram is not yet taking the world by storm. (g)

Now to the more interesting part of the equation. Samsung now gets to exercise 280,000 warrants of RMBS stock @ $2.50 per share. If sold at current prices, that would net Samsung about $32.0 million. Now let's see,..... does that not work out to something in excess of $3.00 per unit (heh, heh, heh)? And this is on top of the profits accruing from the units themselves (which are not so consequential).

Does anybody have any questions as to how this whole game is being played? (g)

Sooner or later, we will also find out how much Toshiba and Hitachi received in warrants. I'd bet that it is a tidy sum. Nothing like making folks an "offer that you can't refuse." (g)

What a charade.

Best, Earlie
