gott,

did you get the norton av email that alluded to the 6/12 virus defs that were causing system problems for a number of users? very interesting. they said that the 6/21 update resolved the probs. i like that symantec publicized the issues.

have a nice weekend

:)

Should try the windows defrag on Win2000....swift swift. Don't have stats, but at this point ghis win2000 owner has no need to buy an external defragger. O.

Windows 98 defrag hangup: I've got a laptop
that I defragged before once. Took about 6 hours.
Last nite I started it and after 3 1/2 hours it was at
1% and 2% completed. Back and forth. Went to bed and 7 hours later it was still at 1-2%. Restarted defrag and
after 2 hours still no further. I don't run 'programs'.
I only surf the web and trade/follow stocks and financial
sites. Computer guru Jim Coates says Norton programs
cause more problems than it fixes.
What else can I try? Or maybe just forget it as I never saw
a difference after the first defrag. I know 'nothing'
about this computer stuff. 88
