OT <<it will be exciting if you make stuff up that isn't the actual news story>>

<<'couple this with a bill proposing a suit against OPEC allowing the seizure of its assets'

Nothing in the news story says that>>

BILL WILL ALLOW ANTITRUST SUITS AGAINST OPEC

"The bill would allow judges to seize OPEC's American assets, according to an aide to the congressman."

cnn.com

Sorry Bob, from now on I'll make sure every word I write is a verabtim quote from an official news agency. I'll also make sure to not draw the most obvious impications of a news story--like, the only practical way a judgement against a foreign entity can be enforced is by seizure of its local assets.

<<standard political posturing using executive orders>>

I am not an expert on exeutive Orders (something tells me you're not either), but I doubt declarations of national emergency are "standard."

the Order actually blocks others from seizing Russian assets, rather than allowing the US seizure of Russian assets, as we both suggested, so I (we) misspoke. But you'll have to forgive me--what I try to focus on with my postings at this forum is to provide objective links allowing others draw their own conclusions, so I spend as little time as possible on my own commentary. The hope is that the forum isn't rendered useless as an informaton source by endless subjective bantering. (Of course, I'm only one person).

Standard political posturing using executive orders. Not all assets, just assets related to one program:

Now Bob, don't be bursting the goldbug's bubbles.

Even though you and I know that the EO only deals with assets associated with the HEU agreement, including uranium already be processed that we have now apparently seized, the "bugs" need something they can perceive as catastrophic in order to get their hopes up.

Now why you and I, but not "The Privateer", were able to discern the boilerplate nature of that EO, is symptomatic of their creed.

Regards,

Ron
