RE: US stockpile of gold

Let's assume there are 261 million ounces.
How about distributing about 1 ounce to each US citizen ???

Our focus could then shift to convincing the "average American" to hold onto their gold instead of cashing it in to spend on alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and lotto tickets. I have great faith in the wisdom of my fellow Americans, I would buy stock in Anheuser Busch, Philip Morris, etc..

<<Being the Fed Chairman, who is in a better position to know whether there is, or isn't, a US gold stockpile... you or Alan Greenspan??>>

Were you the expert source you claim, you would understand neither AG nor you or me knows the status of the US gold stores! These are fully controlled by the Treasury NOT the Federal Reserve. If a full accounting is not done how can anyone be sure?

btw Ron, if you are so sure about the gold holdings around the world, why are the 79 tonnes(physical) loaned into the market by Kuwait still shown as "official" reserves?
