booters,

Thank you for sharing your trading ideas for your shorter interval plays. It got to thinking about using it myself and I added a 20sma to the 5e/13s/30min and as I looked through charts, it occurred to me that a good strategy to use this additional MA would be to get an initial 100 shares on the first 5e/13s signal and get another 100 on the second signal of the 5e/20s.

brain surge now over...back outside to wait for the rain. Flies are biting...ouch!

boots,

Very glad to hear that BTTT-MAX has aided your trading. I think your experience is shared by several here, including myself. I started this thread to share a system that used MACD and Stochastics for signals, along with the 40MA...and the returns were decent, but there were many disappointments and several big losses. The success I've had with this new system is nothing short of phenomenal.

And I have no concern about anyone tailoring this simple system to meet personal goals, risk tolerance, etc. I've only ever lost money trying to trade other people's systems blindly. Much better to trade something you have created yourself, even if the main ideas come from someone else (the MAX idea is certainly not mine!).

I'm interested in adding a 3rd dimension to the 5/8 MAX system...something like MACD or a third MA. I think if I went back and gave the system more robustness with something like that, there would have been fewer drawdowns. It might then be able to be traded very mechanically...whereas some of my success, at least, was due to certain subjective decisions made in response to market direction.

Could you clarify your setting for MACD as applied to the 60min charts? And I assume you are using 5ema/8sma?

Thanks, TC
