Was it a requirement to try and scale so quickly?

Good question. Perceived as a requirement, apparently. "The race is on", "the land grab", "the eyeball/pocketbook/attention grab", that sort of thing. Amazon hasn't made any fatal mistakes that we know of on their way to sales of $4B or whatever's expected in the next 12 months. Of course almost everyone has questioned their brash financial attitude as they have forged ahead relentlessly. It's a little hard to believe they sell gas-powered edgers on their site!

Wishing us both some pleasant surprises in the years ahead (assuming we don't choose to sell, or maybe even if we do). I guess the fact that it would be a somewhat significant pain in the butt for me if they disappeared (in terms of their reliability and convenience), the implication might be that they have a decent chance of success if a good % of their customers feel that way.
