IMO, one thing that could mitigate somewhat the high and even outrageous P/Es is lower interest rates in the face of a slowing economy. But let's not kid ourselves. If you miss your numbers or give slowing guidance in this P/E environment you will get taken out to the woodshed and beaten and this beating can last days if not weeks and you might not recover anytime soon. If Brinker is right, you will have tax loss selling season galore this year.
